Composer Pavle Gavrilovic was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, where he gained his first musical and compositional training. His works have been performed in the United States and Europe by a variety of soloists and ensembles, including Friction Quartet, Telegraph Quartet, Belgrade Trio, and guitarist Vuk Dragičević.
A graduate of the Faculty of Musical Arts in Belgrade, and SFCM, where he studied with Isidora Žebeljan and David Conte respectively, he is currently pursuing a D.M. in Composition at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, with a minor in guitar performance.
Recent works include Symphonic Sketches (2025), Three Short Movements (2025), and Reflections (2026), the opening piece of his ongoing Four Pieces for Guitar.

As a performer, Pavle appears as a classical guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, performing on electric and bass guitar in contemporary and cross-genre settings. His work in popular music includes the indie-pop duo Markus Pavlov, where he contributes as a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.
A dedicated educator, he currently teaches Composition and Music Theory at the San Francisco High School of the Arts.
